i am new to here so please be bear with me.. i have always believed in god, but was never baptised, my parents wanted me to make up my own mind religon wise.. i am thinking of becoming a jw and am just needing some advice on how to do this, bible study and jw beliefs.
also do jw say grace and how.. i am greatful of any help.. thanks.
Do you want to be part of a religion that insults others like si1 does? Because I don't agree with her and the 8 men in Brooklyn, she has said that I don't love god nor the bible. Anyone that knows me on this forum or in real life knows that is laughably untrue. So untrue, in fact, that I am not even offended by the comment.
In fact I am glad si1 is posting here so you can see the true attitude of those in the watchtower religion.
why do christian religions continue to pretend that the hebrew scriptures (aka the old testament) is god-inspired and that it describes a loving god?
don't they see that the ot is largely an embarrassment to its believers?

One reason is that the Old Testament contains hundreds of prophecies about the coming of the messiah, his life, and death. You can't have Christianity without Judaism.

is it not true, that jehovah had a representative line of kings sitting on his throne at jerusalem, and didn't that line of kings end when king zedekiah was deposed from the throne?
while it was operational could it not be said jehovah had a visible organization on earth while those kings were ruling?
From reading some other posts by this guy, the op appears to be someone that has left the org for one reason or another, but sill believes most of what they teach. In another thread he accuses all of "religious Christendom" as thinking Jesus is still a baby. Just a lot of inaccuracies and loaded language. It appears that he still believes in 607bce, 1914, the impossible rendering of the divine name as Jehovah, among many other things.

Ahhhh I see. You are either a current jw, or an exjw that wishes for reform. You still hold to the easily answered false teaching that Jesus is Michael. Makes sense as to why you are still using loaded words and terms.
Religious Christendom knows more about Jesus than you may expect. When I left the wt, I found that they knew very little about Jesus, as can be seen by some parts of your post.

I've been to many churches and none of them showed Jesus to be a tiny baby. I'm not sure which churches you've been to, but saying that "religious Christendom" portrays him like that is not accurate. Using the term "religious Christendom" in that way is continuing to use loaded words and terms like the wt has done.
All "Christendom" means is the worldwide believers of Jesus Christ. Reading your post, it appears that you are one of them.
Instead of stereotyping millions of people like that, why not be more specific as to who is actually portraying Jesus as a baby. He WAS a baby, and his coming into the world is celebrated. So if we are celebrating that event, then it is appropriate to show him as a baby. However all of my experience has shown that nearly all Christians view Jesus as our all powerful king and god.
Id like more specifics before I judge all "religious Christendom" as portraying Jesus only as a baby. Can you back up this claim?
i know it`s certainly not going to happen in our time or even our childrens ,childrens time , but surely eventually, it must come about.. religion , all religion has been nothing but a curse on this planet , and humans will never reach their full potential until they eradicate all forms of religion .. of course the theists will insist their have been great acheivments in science, astronomy, the arts etc.
,to a large part by the educated religionists of their day , however the masses were deprived of such education .if the masses had received the education of the priveledged few religous scholars ,we may well have been enjoying a new golden age of enlightenment already.. note : i am talking about all religions of the world not just xians ,judaism, muslim ,etc.
but all religious persuasions.. just my 2 cents worth.

Nealy everyone on this site used to worship god. Atheism is a somewhat new phenomenon; at least to the extent that we see it today.. Historically, humans worship. And like was stated before, humans will always worship something. That, along with the ability to love, is a main difference we have with animals. Many like to deny worship and say they don't worship anything.
Many reject the term worship because it reminds them of god. However the word we derived "worship" from was an old English word "worth-ship". It is giving special worth to something or someone.
Of course usually the word is religious in its usage, but the need to give special "worth" to something or someone is part of our nature. It can be nature, science, or an object. And as long as we have this NEED, there will always be those that ascribe what they see or feel to god or some sort of deity, even if this god is merely "energy" or something else.
Its great that someone fromafrica made their way here. The wt likes to brag about their growth in Africa. It's great that people are starting to wake up there too!!!
